Lab Colors

Last semester, I took a laboratory subject which is required for all Environmental Engineering students. Because it would add more stress if I didn't force ourselves to have a good time, and because they're beautiful, I (along with my groupmate) 'played' with the solution preparation a bit. We put the higher dye concentration dropwise to water in preparing lower dye  concentrations, thus letting us capture the dye's slow movement of mixing with distilled water.

Lessons learned after the election period 2013

Lessons learned after the election period 2013:

  •  My vote will count only if I let the majority of the voters to know my vote - if I pursuade them into voting for them too.
  •  I wasted time thinking who to fill my 12 bets even though I already want 5 sure senatorial candidates to win (which are not at the top 12 aotm). If those wasted times were spent gathering votes for those five, I would have gave them a chance to beat the others.
  •  The 'thinking class of the Philippines' who bashes Binay in the internet is a minority. Their votes do not count as much as the they think it does. Not until their voices will be heard by the 'not so much of a thinker' class, which do not have access to internet, so
  •  Internet bashing is not that useful in this case. Not until it is heard by the majority of the voters.
  •  There's no Christian vote. Eddie Villanueva did not make it to the cut.
  •  Television is powerful. So I hope it should be a lesson to Vice Ganda; she should campaign for her senatorial candidates earlier next time. I hope she's famous still on 2016 (Most of her bets are my bets too).

This should serve as a lesson for me, and I hope for the others in the internet world too. We should not set aside the majority of the voters who do not meticulously choose for their government officials, who stick to the common names because they are common. LEt's hope for a better 2016 elections, with us using all our powers to have a more intelligent majority voters.

Book Tour, Review and Giveaway: Tantric Storm by Kali Willows

Title: Tantric Storm
Series: 1 Night Stand
Author: Kali Willows
Genre: Paranormal, Interracial Romance, Erotic,
Publisher: Decadent Publishing
Format: Ebook
Length: 63 pages

Buy Links: Decadent Publishing | Amazon |

Book Description:

Therapist Laura Wellington is eager to end her sexual dry spell. Her skill of helping couples achieve personal happiness is illusive in her own life. Through the services of 1NS, she jets off to a small island in Spain for a spectacular night of mind-blowing pleasure, but her match has a challenge that might make her goal unreachable.

Declan Tempest hasn’t had a climax in years. Not because he can’t, but because he won’t; his dire fear over the consequences of fulfillment deter him. Declan turns to the aid of Madame Eve to create a match that can allow him the satisfaction he desperately needs, despite the challenge he deems a dark curse.

Can the two of them find release while they battle a tantric storm?

Excerpt:

“Wait a second. You’re saying you could tell things about me just by looking?”

“Yes, I can.” She crossed her arms and stared him down.

“Okay.” He faced her. “Give it your best shot.”

“Well, let’s see.” She considered his appearance. “You dressed in casual attire, so you wanted to appear relaxed and confident for our date, but you’re particular about your clothing. Silk, white, button down shirt, the first few buttons are open, and chino dress pants, so you aren’t uptight, but still somewhat conservative.”

Declan arched his brows. “Go on.”

“You shave your head, but from the looks of your five o’clock shadow, it’s more for convenience than esthetics. You have a solid build, but wear loose clothing. You don’t go out of your way to show your defined muscles, but you have an exceptionally competitive nature. I would say you’re a professional athlete. A full contact sport of some kind.”

“Wow.”

“You’re engaging and kind. The thin detailed line of facial hair framing your jaw suggests to me you like to have some mystery and can be a very private person, but you don’t hide. If people ask your opinion, you’re honest and open, sometimes more than you intend to be.”

“You’re good.”

“It’s a gift. What can I say?” She relaxed. Not everyone was as receptive to her “gift.”

“I’m speechless.”

“Do you want to try and figure me out?” What will he say?

“Sure I may not be as good at it as you are, but I’ll give it a try.”

“Ready.” Laura dropped her arms to her side and lifted her chin with a smile.

“Let’s see, you’re sweet, intelligent, and sexy as hell.”

She stifled a giggle. “Be serious.”

“I am.” Declan reached up and smoothed a stray tress from her cheek. She leaned into his touch.

“All right, more detail. You wore a soft, shell patterned dress, strapless, with a little glimpse of paradise, but not too much.” With a valiant gleam in his gaze, he traced his finger along her dipping neckline, causing a stir deep inside.

Review:
Disclaimer: The review copy was received for free for an honest review.

Never tried anything like this before (first time to be in a tour/promotions), so forgive me for a rough review.

First off, I would like to say that 1NS series is such an ingenious move for a compelling series. Not having to deal with too many character backgrounds - it's not as enjoyable as it is in other books genres. I've read novels of this type, and the plot twisting and lengthening is not my thing. When erotica is concerned, I like it best in novella/short story form. 1NS is an awesome way to go with it because your setting would be perfect and there's an extra hotness in knowing that the characters are stranger to each other at first.

I'm glad that Tantric Storm as my first 1NS, because I enjoyed it a lot, and I want more! I love the chemistry of the pair. The female protagonist has a perfect background for a story like this.
I also love the way the sizzling parts of the story was handled. Kali Willows has a way with [erotic] words. :)

It may have a little grammar errors but it can be fixed easily.

Cool Beans Cafe at Maginhawa St. UP Village (updated! :D)

(At long last, I visited Cool Beans again! This time, they're no longer in soft opening mode. See my update below the original blog. :D )

Been dreaming of having a coffee shop with a mini library inside? Cool Beans Cafe (FB page here) just made it come true for you! Located at Maginhawa St., they had their soft opening last April 2013. J and I tried it last April 22, and  we loved the experience!
Menu (Still costing)

We ordered two Kalinga roast coffee - mine without syrup and J's with Hazelnut syrup (additional Php20). We sat on a comfy couch on a tableset for 4+ because it's near the books.
My coffee :3

The place, having a theme of Northern Philippines, is cozy. It's best for studying, especially because the ambiance does not  invite loud conversations. It is also a good dating place; if you lack conversation topics, just pick a book and you're good to go. :)
BOOKS!

They had an amazing collection - with books about Marcos, graphic novels, arts, bestsellers (S.Collins, G.R.R Martin, Pratchett, Tolkien), a book about the history of beer in the Philippines, and Bro Code, among others. They also had this National Geographic magazines corner. (How cool is that place?)

We were fixated on this one red book (Icelandic) entitled "Should You Be Laughing At This?" by Hugleikur Dagsson. The book is out of this world. I think it would be a blast if we read it while being drunk. And I love the fact that they had two copies of it. :D

Their playlist (with Sigur Ros songs which J loves so much) enhanced the awesome ambiance that it had.

Can't wait to have coffee there again! :)

UPDATE! After n years, I visited Cool Beans again!
I missed you!

After their soft opening, they're jam packed whenever I passed by, so I haven't got the chance to visit until one Saturday afternoon.

The final menu (see the list here).
I ordered Philly Cheesesteak, Kalinga Roast and Balikutsa :)

Brunch. NOM.

Kalinga roast.
Can't stand drinking coffee with cream, so I bought balikutsa (only Php5 each). Waaaay better than coffeemate. Warning: Addictive.

The food was amazing! The prices are reasonable especially when you're going to stay there to read (because we don't want to rob them with customer space, don't we?)

And, my, their library grew larger! I picked a Terry Pratchett because every sentence of his book is hilarious.

They already have their own book classification :3
Truly LOL'ed reading this. Must have a copy of Equal Rites ASAP.

I was alone when I went there so I couldn't stay for a little longer (I always have this feeling of hogging the seats when I stay at a cafe after I finished eating). I will need to go back there, this time with friends, so I could finish the book. :)

I think they need to have larger space to accommodate more books...and more customers, of course. ;)

This helps, though.
Gods I love this place! <3

The easy squeeze packaging

Applied facial wash on skin
