Book Shelfie

I'm in love with books and I can't hide it.
Thus the shelfie!
Note: I may be too overwhelmed while typing this blog because my excitement over books are not containable.

Some of my books are not here, but still. Yey! Shelfie!
FIRST ROW:

My Animorphs collection!
This collection is so dear to me. I'm an Animorphs fan since first year high school (that I even did an Animoprhs 30-day challenge) and have been hunting book shops and book sales to complete the 54 books. So far I only have less than 10 books to find. This series has a lot of influence to my life, plus, it gave me my longest lasting relationship with a book character ever - yes, Marco and I are still together. No, I'm not a creep. Anyway, for more feels, feel free to read this reaction to the ending.
Also, for all the series readers out there, I recommend this one!

SECOND ROW:

Where my favorite books are. Wait. There is no favorite in books.

The Dapitan Correspondence, Anthology of Poems and New Poems in Filipino (projects of Marcos era) - those are the supposed highlights of this row. But in truth, all of them are.
I was in deep relationship with myself while reading The Art of Happiness and How to Win Friends and Influence People.
From 'Tis to Call it Sleep are my Php10. And they were good picks.
From Personal to Island, and some Neil Gaiman books, are given to me by my lovely boyfriend.
And if I can command people, I would command the young readers to read Artemis Fowl. Great series too.

My shameless plugging. XD
Continuation of second row: My Neil Gaimans. I love him.
And then there are my UP Press books, Smaller and Smaller Circles, Lacaba (forgot the title) and One Hundred Love Poems (Bought 2, gave one to my bf. Totally used for luring-my-bf purposes lol). Of course they're bought on sale. :) Great picks I might say. :)
Rio Alma's a gift from a friend. :)
SANDMAN. I started to read graphic novels because of Sandman. I read this online before, but unfortunately the site's down already, so I have no choice but to buy them all. I failed my classes because I couldn't wake up early from reading this. Don't be obsessed like that, guys.

THIRD ROW:

2/3 are still to-be-read
I love the thrill of buying preloved books, thus the books that are yet to be read. From left, to Albuquerque.
Then comes Tales of Power by Carlos Castaneda. It is the last book of four, and it's the only book that I've read, but it's still a good read. It's a unique read for me.
The Bob Ongs and Ricky Lees - the light Filipino reads (compared to F. Sionil Jose).
From Bronte to Scrabble are books given to me by many people. Thank you very much! I hope that they'll never be tired of giving me books. Please.
Storm of Swords - my favorite of the series so far. I pray to all gods that GRRM will be alive until the very last book. And that he'll be able to write many novels afterwards.

Continuation
My big books! 'Instructions' is a graduation/birthday gift from my boyfriend! He loves me.
Notice: I don't own a full set of series. (YET for Animoprhs)
I remember buying Harry Potter and Mockingjay just because I didn't want any spoilers.
On top are some of the children's books that I will give to my inaanakis on Christmas. Mahirap lang kaya second-hand, but it's the thought that counts.

SANDMAN.

There. The spazz is over. Please please please share me your shelfie too! Comment your shelfie link below. :) I would love to have more book bffs! :)

Mis-Drop

I had seen so many youtube videos, but this I have to share to everyone I know, including you. :*

I'm in love with sci-fi stories. I had this fascination as early as elementary, when I read one short story from a Reading subject which blew my young mind (I reread it one time when I was older, like during the college days and I thought, "Wow, a young mind can easily be blown, hmmm").
Anyway, since then, I find ways to have my sci-fi stories (but mostly on books, because I lovem).
Aaand yes, while I was on my internet time, I stumbled upon this video. I watched it n times already, because it's worth it.

Check out this 8.2/10 rated (by imdb) sci-fi short film by Ferand Peek called Mis-Drop.

And please share your thoughts on the comments section below! :D I would love to hear from you! :D

[A little review: What I like the most about this film is that every little emotion that the protagonist felt, I, the watcher, can feel it, too. Plus it made me ask myself this nagging question (just like every good sci-fi story made me ask myself): What would you do if you're there?]

Financial Journey: Constant Learning

For some time, I was quite obsessed in learning about stocks, investments and other financial services.

This started when my dad told us about Bo Sanchez's book - My Maid Invests in the Stock Market. I've read it n times because it has many lessons on so many levels of a Filipino's life.

Anyway, my dad decided to open a colfinancial account after, and he urged us to do so too. I can't remember too well where I got my 5k minimum seed money to open an account, but I had it so my sister and I opened accounts, too, after months of seeing that my dad's stocks were gaining.

Hi there business sections
Of course, I had to make a little research on what stocks to buy. And while 'researching', I stumbled upon a Facebook note regarding market updates. (There, I learnt that infrastructure companies are the way to go as of the moment.) At the end of the update, it said that if I want to know more, just PM him. I did, and it turned out to be a free seminar on "How to Build A Solid Financial Foundation" by WFMA (World Financial Marketing Alliance).

It was a life-changing seminar for me. It opened my eyes about the key difference of the nouveau riche (newly rich) and the bourgeois: they know how money works. And the former, the people who worked hard to be rich, will never pass their riches to the next generation if they don't get the financial education that the bourgeois has.

And that's the mission of WFMA, to help families achieve financial independence and to reach out to the people who are not being reached out by conventional financial services industries, like the masses.
Example: There are 2 men inside a bank: one has Php 10k and the other one has Php 10M, who do you think will be more accommodated? The answer's the P10M man. But in the Philippines, how many men have P10k and how many have P10M?

WFMA's vision is to revolutionize the financial services industry, that even the P10k man can have the financial services that the P10M man has.

As soon as I grasp the idea that they aim to educate as many Filipinos as possible to have more families to become financially independent, I wanted to become part of it too.
See, they aim to eradicate one's independence to padala galing abroad, utang, and sustento. I love to see my country free of it!

Also, they conduct other seminars to broaden one's knowledge about the market, other ways to invest, differences/advantages of life/VUL insurances, and so on. That's why I found my home there where I can learn abundantly.

:)

If you happen to be interested on attending such seminars, please feel free to contact me at 0922-24-25334 or 0915-316-59-46. (Seminar locations: Makati, Lipa Batangas, Cavite City, Baguio City and Pampanga. If located far from here, meeting arrangements can be made, too!)

Meanwhile, I'll share this video for everyone (including me) to contemplate to:

Money Talks: Financial advantage of being a Human Nature dealer

Hola blogfriends!
I've been a Human Nature dealer for almost two years now - and I've never been inactive. Now I ask myself why - what did I sign up for? What are my benefits?

I did a little research and some calculations, and voila!  Here's a table of product prices from Human Nature, compared to the usual products that we use(d) at home:

While there's less discount at some products like shampoo and soap, we could still get discounts overall. Plus, if you're a diligent dealer, you can get higher discount (up to 30%). I had up to 27.5% discount once.
It just means that it pays off that I cut the middleman (like supermarkets) and become a dealer, because I save lots.

It's a good feeling to save, y'all.

Not only that, there are lots of plus points on why it's good to switch to Human Nature. Here are some of the reasons (coming from their website):

  • Here's the company's mision: '...sustainably build a global company which will showcase the best of the Philippines and uplift all our people, especially the poor through providing affordable, quality, natural products.'
  • They have partnerships with Gawad Kalinga to build homes and help farmers to be more efficient in their craft by having products in which 100% of the profit that come from it will be for the benefit of GK (e.g. Bug Shield)
  • The products are ORGANIC. Great way to have a healthier lifestyle. :)

Want to become a dealer, too? Here's the link to the form. :)
(Shameless link, I know. But I need to do it. :D)

Dealer terms are here.
