Money Talks: Financial advantage of being a Human Nature dealer

Hola blogfriends!
I've been a Human Nature dealer for almost two years now - and I've never been inactive. Now I ask myself why - what did I sign up for? What are my benefits?

I did a little research and some calculations, and voila!  Here's a table of product prices from Human Nature, compared to the usual products that we use(d) at home:

While there's less discount at some products like shampoo and soap, we could still get discounts overall. Plus, if you're a diligent dealer, you can get higher discount (up to 30%). I had up to 27.5% discount once.
It just means that it pays off that I cut the middleman (like supermarkets) and become a dealer, because I save lots.

It's a good feeling to save, y'all.

Not only that, there are lots of plus points on why it's good to switch to Human Nature. Here are some of the reasons (coming from their website):

  • Here's the company's mision: '...sustainably build a global company which will showcase the best of the Philippines and uplift all our people, especially the poor through providing affordable, quality, natural products.'
  • They have partnerships with Gawad Kalinga to build homes and help farmers to be more efficient in their craft by having products in which 100% of the profit that come from it will be for the benefit of GK (e.g. Bug Shield)
  • The products are ORGANIC. Great way to have a healthier lifestyle. :)

Want to become a dealer, too? Here's the link to the form. :)
(Shameless link, I know. But I need to do it. :D)

Human Nature Magalogue Turnover

I was at the Human Nature magalogue turnover last July 13. They had a little program in which they introduced their new products (27.5% off/30% off, depends). I bought some of them for me to try. :)

Pretty design! My first zippered bag from Human Nature.

27.5% off. Shampoo and conditioner for me, Scrub for stocking and Body wash for my brother :)

For the conclusion of the human nature products, they played a video with a theme of how much they grew and developed into what they are now. It also showed how this growth affect their employees, the Filipino farmers and Filipina seamstresses within their company. It's an inspiring video for people who want to see and do change to the Philippines. It made me, a Human Nature consumer, feel that I was doing a good thing for the Philippines by just choosing their products: it made me feel proud of myself, that with this little act, I was making a difference.

After that, the Plush and Play (bolooka site) mastermind (I can't remember his name, and I really can't find him in the internet world) talked about his venture, where he came from (France), what was his first motivation, idea and prototype, and how it later on became Plush n Play.
That's him, with Anna Meloto-Wilk on the side.

While he's talking, I was impressed by how he can easily be a model entrepreneur. I am currently taking up IE 298: Entrepreneurship, and all the steps on making a startup, he did, and shared to us. He has this vision to replace all the lead containing toys by his toys - and I couldn't think of anything but impressive. I hope I could have that goals when it's my turn to have a business venture. I wish for him to have many avenues to talk about his venture, so that many would be inspired, just like me.

Plush n Play toys were handmade by GK needlewomen aka crafters. Ate Fe, one of the mananahis, was there and introduced us the toys. she also made a demo on how to make them. The kids in the room was very curious and enthusiastic about it.

The kids were so interested!

The toys are so cute, informative, safe and very Filipino.

This really made me laugh - Dalandaniel Padilla.

Pan talong

I talked to her and she said that they are open to make souvenirs for kiddie birthday parties. [I would love that! On my 25th birthday, if ever I'm effing rich, I would have 'Jessica Saging' and the talong as giveaway. LOL]

I enjoyed all the freebies (had two cups of coffee, candies and cookies), the atmosphere of giving and hope, and hearing the inspirational talks of the social entrepreneurs from HN and Plush and Play.

I wish them more successful magalogue turnovers, and more costumers!

My All-Natural Kikay Kit

I was never thrilled to buy trivial things (things that I could live without. things for OC purposes) like wallet, pouch, bra, extra clothes and shoes, etc - you got my point. But this time, I like to present to you my self-modified pouch aka kikay kit!
This is made from the plain brown pouch I got as a prize from one of the games in our ASTE Christmas party, the panty-like clothing is from already-too-tight dress, and the buttons are from my dear mother's sewing kit. I'm proud of this because this is the first time that I made something personalized that I can carry in public. I tried personalized pants and shirts but I wear them only inside our house.

Of course, a kikay kit without contents is just a pouch. Before, my 'beauty gadgets' were all courtesy of my mother dear. But since I heard of Human Nature and what their products are made of (raw materials from Philippines, organic, skin-friendly), I got curious and try one product. But after being satisfied with it, I tried one product after another, until my kikay kit consist of solely HN products!

Presenting the contents of my kikay kit...

The foundation refill was replaced by a non-refill already (read: SALE).

The first one that I tried is the tinted lip balm. I got the darkest shade - Flame Tree. What I like the most about this lip balm is its not-intimidating tint. It's not so dark that I will feel evil-looking and it's not too red that I will feel bitchy. Also, before, I used the lipstick-lip balm combo, but with HN lip balm, I don't need a lipstick anymore.

But...
Lip Balm + Lip Gloss Combo

I also got the darkest shade for the lip gloss - Island Berry. It has minimal tint so it just accentuates the lip balm' color - it cannot be depended for its own tint if you want one. But definitely expect moist from this product. This is so effective for my cracked lips that I seldom have bloody lipped (due to removal of loosed lip skins) problems anymore.

I used a liquid blush on before, but my problem with it was that it smell bad, like an 'bulok' chemical mixed with 'tubal' clothes. Plus I saw what it's made of, and most of the harmful chemicals listed in HN's magalogues (parabens, etc) are there. That's why when Rosy Cheeks went out on sale, I bought many. And it's a good buy because I don't have to apply heavy amounts to see its color. Plus it doesn't smell bad and it's all-natural.

A special addition to my kikay kit is the Toffee foundation. It's on sale - buy one, get a free refill - until March 8 so buy one now. :) PM me if you want to purchase. :) I had a Orient Pearl refill before and I love its shade and how I apply it less seldom than if I use a normal powder, though it's still whiter than my skin tone so I have to be extra careful on applying it so that I will not look like an espasol.

Here's one side of my face with lip balm, lip gloss, a hint of blush on and Pearl Orient foundation applied  to it.

Anyway, when I found out that the Toffee shade is on sale, I bought one. I tried their tip on how to apply it, and it works wonders to my face.
What I really love about this shade is that it caters the Filipina women who are browner in tone than Westerners. That is lacking to other lines of beauty products that originate from the West. We brown-skinned Asians are lucky to have HN and their Asian loving products.
